FAQ's

Are we allowed fires?

Fires are allowed but only in our ragstone fire pit, free of charge. We have a few UK made sturdy grills with hot plates and tripods with grills to put over the fire pit for hire if you are interested. Gas BBQ allowed, but no ground BBQ's or fireworks please.

Can we use wood from the woodlands?

Collecting wood kindling from the woodland is allowed for starting fires only, but branches or fallen logs are not allowed, as they are a habitat that we'd like to keep.  However we do sell locally sourced seasoned kindling & wood logs.  You can purchase these when you are booking or you can purchase from us each afternoon on-site. We also sell fabulous bags of locally made charcoal from Ashdown Farm nestled on the north downs.

Can we bring our dog(s)?

Dogs are very welcome... We love dogs!

We kindly ask that you only bring dogs who are socialised and under control at all times and don't mind being on lead whilst being in the camping area and woodlands.   We have a separate secure 6 acre grass field next to the camping ground, which is fenced off where you can walk your dog off lead to really stretch their legs.  There are a myriad of walking footpaths on and off the campsite to explore with your dog and plenty of dog friendly pubs to stop off at!  Please bring poo-bags and we shall provide a waste bin.

Can we park onsite?

There is parking on and off the site.  Our main carpark is through our self entry electric gate, down a ragstone track which is bumpy at times, so slow careful driving please - 5mph.  Our offsite we use for extra vehicles or when the onsite carpark is full or when  we've had constant rain and it looks too wet to drive on, the offsite care park is only a short walk as it's adjacent to the campsite.

Can we bring our Caravan or Campervan?

These are tent pitches only due to the terrain.  The pitch price, allows for 1 vehicle which will need to be parked in the separate on-site carpark, a short walk from the grass pitch.  4x4's can unload next to your pitch and then park in the carpark.

Non 4x4 will need to unload in the car park, we will happily transport your goods to and from your pitch with an ATV & trailer for no extra charge.   If the ATV is busy with another camper, there are wheel barrows if you wanted to get cracking!

Gazebos are allowed?

Yes, no charge for these.

Are groups of tents allowed?

Family and friends groups are welcome, but there are only a couple of areas big enough for a couple of  large tents together

(see map and measured areas).

We kindly ask for no single sex groups bigger than 5 e.g: no hen or stag parties at our grounds.

Can we play music?

Amplified music is not allowed, but other forms of music should cease at 10pm for the comfort of all campers.

Can we buy food on site?

There is a small shop open each afternoon.

Logs, charcoal, eco fire lighters, kindling, batteries, giant marshmallow, sweet shop and the hiring of grills.

Are you COVID ready?

Yes we are officially "Good to go" and have identified all the risks, so there are thorough systems in place to keep everyone who comes safe.

Are friends allowed to visit?

While COVID is still enforce,  unfortunately we can only allow paying campers to be onsite this year.
