PARKING

  • There are two car parks, on-site and off-site.

  • This is a tent only campsite and vehicles will need to be parked in the carparks, not next to pitches.

  • All cars can use the on-site carpark, the track to this carpark is a little bumpy but just requires slow driving - 5mph.

  • Confident 4x4 drivers can unload their things onto the pitch and park back into the carpark, but you must speak to Wealdings staff member at check-in before you do this.

  • Non 4x4 can park in the carpark and Wealdings staff will help transport your camping gear to your pitch, free of charge using an ATV and trailer.  Wheelbarrows onsite to use too.

  • If the weather has been particularly wet the off-site carpark adjacent to the campsite will be used instead for all cars, vans and 4x4’s, this is minimise the risk of getting your vehicle stuck.  You will be notified if you will be parking off-site.

  • Only 1 vehicle per pitch.  Any extra vehicle will have to park in the off-site car par.

  • Commercial vehicles for fare-paying passengers and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site, unless approved by Wealdings before booking.

CAMPERS

  • Apologies, but no hen or stag parties allowed.

  • Numbers of people declared on the booking form must be adhered to at all times. Under 18's who book must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Families or groups with more than 3 pitches are welcome but must be declared to Wealdings when booking.  Each camper and dog collar will be have a Wealdings wrist band on entry, so you know and we know who is a paying customer.   If you see someone or dog enjoying the facilities or the campsite without a wrist band, then please let Wealdings staff know.

  • Swearing or aggressive behaviour is not tolerated on site and you will be asked to leave immediately.

  • Day visitors are not allowed at Wealdings.

WILD CAMPING

The site is on an undulating farm field, which is sloped and steep in parts, with some dips, the track has loose stones too so please take care on those, we recommend using the plethora of grass or wood chip tracks to walk on and take care on those stones. The pitches are cut grass and the pitches are on the flattest areas of the field so for good sleeping, make sure you book the right pitch for the size of your tent.

RESPECT NATURE

Den making can be made from fallen wood, it’s great fun, but we kindly ask not to bring down any living branches or trees to achieve this.  Excitingly, there are plenty of animals living near the campsite, from sheep to foxes, badgers to owls, stoats and buzzards, if you find any of these treasured dens or nests please keep your distance, and do not disturb or damage the area so they can rest easy.   The grass gets long in the summer months in  some areas, the children might benefit to trousers/leggings so it doesn't itch their legs too much if they want to run through it.

PONDS & ARCHERY & TUG OF WAR

There are several ponds on this site and off-site in private fields. These are signed but not fenced off.  Children should always be accompanied by an adult when visiting the ponds.  Pond dipping is encouraged with the use of our free nets and buckets, if the fauna in the pond allows!

The pond water is not suitable for drinking, paddling or swimming.  Life rings are onsite if needed.

Children who use the archery and tug of war should always be accompanied by an adult, Wealdings is not liable for any injuries incurred onsite. Don't forget to bring your own bow and arrows!

FIRES

  • Fires only in allocated ragstone firepits on your pitch.

  • Please do not move the firepit off your pitch area. Fires must not be lit anywhere else on the campsite or woodlands.

  • Small sticks can be taken for kindling to start fires only, but no other wood, branches or large wood on the ground can not be taken and burnt. (Locally sourced hard wood can be bought on site prior to booking and whilst on site,

  • Fires and BBQ's must never be left unsupervised and must be put out when going to bed or if you leave the pitch for the day.

  • Fires and BBQ's are used entirely at your own risk and we ask to please be aware of the wind direction when there are high winds because of the fire risk to the grass, your tents and other campers.

  • Should your BBQ or firepit become uncontrollable, there are sand buckets at each pitch and a fire extinguisher on site for you to use immediately. Please contact Wealdings staff immediately as well.

  • Remember to keep your gas cylinders well away from your tent to minimise carbon monoxide exposure.

  • If the weather becomes hot and dry for prolonged time,  open fires might not be allowed, this is all weather dependent.

DOGS

  • Dogs must be socialised and behave well to come to Wealdings.

  • Please keep dogs on a lead at all times throughout the campsite and woodland

  • Controlled dogs can be off-lead in your pitch area ONLY as long as they will not wonder, chase other dogs or children.

  • Please bring poo bags.

  • Dogs can go off lead in the designated dog walking field, which has a 4ft barbed sheep fence.

  • If your dog is liable to jump over fences this high (chasing rabbits/birds/sheep etc) then please do not let them off lead in this area.

  • There is feather grass at Wealdings, the seeds can stick to their fur, so we recommend a daily check of their coat to check for grass seeds.   Dogs MUST be on lead at twilight and during the dark night time hours due to wild foxes, badges and deers roaming, even in the off lead dog walking area 'The Slip".

FARM & FARM MACHINERY

You will meet the sleepy drill and the vespa on your exploration of Wealdings, these are farm machinery relics, awesome to see and ponder over, but clearly not a toy and shouldn’t be played on or near for safety reasons.  Please let your children know this. There is also fencing surrounding the campsite, it is barbed like many country fields for sheep protection, clearly they should not to be climbed over or played on, there are plenty of safe entrances and exits to use at the site.

  • As this a working farm we recommend to wear shoes around the campsite, fields and in the wood areas.

NOISE

Amplified music is NOT allowed, other forms of music should be played quietly and cease at 10pm to be respectful of all campers and our neighbours.

WASTE

The sites must be left as found, with all waste removed. Bins have been provided, 1. general waste and 2. recycling glass, plastic and cardboard.  Please no hot food/ash/logs and smoking cigarettes in the bins please. Ash and logs must be left in the ragstone firepit.

  • Smokers must use our ashtray, please don’t throw butts in the fire or on the ground due to the risk of starting fires.

YOURSELF, YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR BELONGINGS

This is a naturally, wild campsite full of fun & freedom, but every campers knows it comes with it’s own risks.  We have made every effort to ensure this campsite is safe but we cannot accept responsibility for missing personal belongings, children left unattended or personal injuries sustained whilst on the campsite.

  • We recommend not to bring valuables camping.

FORCE MAJEURE

Wealdings is not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event of circumstances beyond our control, like (but not be limited to) moderate/severe weather warnings, war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, health risks or such similar events. We wish for everyone to have a relaxed, fun and safe stay at Wealdings, that’s why we have the above to help achieve this, so if some of the terms are not met it may result in your party being asked to leave the site with no reimbursement made.

These terms and conditions will be emailed over to you with your booking form and another copy will be site.

Any questions, then please don’t hesitate to get in contact.
